Was out on the lake when I shut the motor off to fish and then wouldn't restart, seemed to be flooded was able to get back to dock and check it out. I'm new to boating and of course Motor repair but was able to see the fuel coming out the silver cap on the top carb would this be a bad float? Is the silver looking cap a overflow release?

Welcome to Iboats,

If carb keeps losing fuel when priming the bulb firm, there's a float/needle/valve seat menage a trois going on...Usually the needle seat is dirty and needle tip doesn't close firm against the seat. Polish it with a Q-Tip and toothpaste of your favorite brand till the Q-tip comes out clean.

Happy Boating
