I just bought a Southport 26CC with a pair of Honda 225s' 226( models) I ran the boat offshore at 25kts out to 23 miles. The FMG was reading 40.+/- MPG the entire run. Does this sound accurate? I didn't' make precise not of the amount of fuel before the trip, so I couldn't' cross-check the MPG figures - but I was pretty darned impressed if in fact that is accurate.

For a while I was it wsa just giving performance the performace of one engine, and that to get a true MPG I should divide by 2 - didn't that didn't seem to make sense after thinking it over.

Anyway I Hondas zero experience with Hondas and was just wondering if someone with more knowledge might be able to comment?

we had a customer with a pair of Honda 225's that was getting 1.61 mpg according to his GPS...sounds like there's something up with your fuel management...get it calibrated at your dealer 8)

Re: 2006 BF225's

No question I'm getting better than 1.61 mpg - that's god awful unless he's pushing a 30+ footer, or running flat-out.

I'm talking about running at 33-3500 rpm, below where I would normally cruise. I'm just wondering if this kind of econmy seems plausible on a 4500 lb 26 footer.

Thanks.
