I found a used 2006 bayliner 205 with a 4.3L V-6. Most others I have seen come with the 5.0 V-8. Will this be under powered? Will it have the carb or MPI system, I asked the owner but he doesn't know. I would like to be able to tow a tube with 4-5 adults in boat. Why do both engines list 220hp? Is there any reason to avoid the V-6?

A 220 HP V6 is MPI while the carb V6 should be 190 HP. Without looking or a engine serial number, the engine could be either or.;)

Well, that boat should do almost 50mph! That's not underpowered to me? Get yourself a 4 blade prop for watersports, and use the stock 3 blade prop for speed, and you're all set!

I just watched a review on youtube about a similar boat for sale, same year, same model with the V-6. They said it was a TKS turn key start 190hp. Now I am getting confused, would bayliner have offered both tks and mpi in the same year or is it most likely a TKS version, if so it is 30hp less than the 5.0. I also see 5.0 mpi listed at 260hp but in this boat they are listed at 220hp, why is that. Is it propshaft hp vs crankshaft hp?
