I was out all weekend and it is fantastic!! Went to Catalina for the fourth and back to Long Beach for the Queen Mary fireworks. 2x had a constant high pitch warning alarm go off. The first time nothing would shut it off, the battery switch, the ignition, nothing. We checked temps, all fluids, sea strainer etc., no problems. Got underway and some bouncing made it go away. 8 Hours later a quieter version showed up that would go away when the key was turned off. Anybody had a similar problem or a clue as to what my problem may be?

Re: 2006 260 Sundancer

I had the same problem with my brand new sea ray.

A week after i bought it. I was out on the lake and the same thing happened.

Turns out reservoir the gear oil resivior there is a small plunger that moves when the fluid levels change. If the plunger goes to far down it will sound realized alarm.

They relized that mine was getting stuck and sending a false signal to the alarm. I took it in for service and they replaced it

The guy at the dealership also said you can tap it sometimes to get it unstuck.

Hope this helps. I know it drove me crazy trying to figure it out.

I tightened the cap on the seastrainer and had no alarms on Sunday. I'll keep an eye that plunger in the future if it happens again though, thanks!
