Hi guys! I have a 2005 MFS30A gear housing that is stuck. Prop is off and 2 bolts are removed. It's very hard to twist but won't come out. Put heat to it and penetrating lube. Smacked the ears of it with a piece of wood and a hammer. Now it's missing both ears and will only spin but with force. Need help. Thanks in advance.

If you aren't careful, you will need a new LU housing in addition to the prop shaft housing you already destroyed. Odds are that salt/crud has accumulated between the prop housing and the LU housing. Since the prop shaft housing is already trash, you could use a pipe wrench to twist it out.

Thanks for replying. I made a puller and as I apply pressure (it's in neutral) the drive shaft doesn't spin. So something is binding up as I attempt to pull it. Is it supposed to be in neutral or in gear. I'm confused.

Thanks. I was looking at the same parts diagram and can't figure it out. I guess I'll just soak it with penetrating oil and let it work for a few days. Thanks again
