Six or seven years ago my '05 DF6 took a swim in some saltwater. It was immediately rebuilt by a certified Suzuki shop, but has been sitting in the garage ever since, and I've recently started messing with it to see if it'd run. The first time I tried starting it nothing happened. I tried a squirt of starter fluid, and the engine ran for a couple of seconds, then died. Not sure what had been replaced when the engine was redone, and concluding it was a fuel issue, I opened up the fuel pump, and it was clean with no signs of damage or wear. I moved on to the carburetor, and after cleaning the gunk and grit out of it, still no signs of life. After cleaning the carburetor and trying to start it, I checked the bowl and at least some amount of fuel seems to be getting there, but there aren't any hints of it trying to fire, and I'm not sure what to look at next. Can anyone give me an idea as to where to go with trying to get some life into this thing?
