I have a 2005 Stingray 195lx boat. I am hoping someone with the same model/design can help me out with a few questions.

My boat just came with two speakers under the dashes. I got two inclosed speakers, and put them in the cubby holes in the back where the rear platform seats sit. This was not problem (really nowwhere else to put them). I want to install an amplifier.

Is it best to mount it up under the passenger dash (where the radio is?) There is a wall there (where the speaker is mounted). I assume this would be safe to screw into?

Is this the best place for the amplifier? I need to run 4 gauge power and ground wires from the battery up to the amplifier, and I am considering to install a marine capacitor by the amp as well. The battery is on the driver side of motor, and of course I would have to run the power and ground up over the motor (on back wall?) and then up the passenger side of boat.

Is this the best setup? (safe?). If anyone has pictures of their install in this boat, I would be much appreciative. And all recommendations and help from anyone familiar with this boat.

Also, I am considering to add a second battery, have you done this in this boat? How did you do it, wire it, placement of second battery?

Love the boat, but not much room to do much. Stock Kenwood radio is barely audible when driving, so I am upgrading head unit, have 2 infinity 6.5" speakers in front, and two poly planar enclosed speakers MA-9060. I then have a alpine 5 channel marine amp. 4 x 75watts and one 300 watt. 5th channel for a sub, but I don't have room for that.

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your boat but I used to install car audio and have done a several boats (Malibu, Mastercraft, Tige) and under the dash is usually the best place that i've found. Keep it dry, that's the key.
