I have a 2005 with a Volvo 4.3 GL-D. After cruising for a 1/2 hour Inoticed a vibration at around 3000 rpm, went away when I reduced speed. Went to dock and when going from forward to reverse and back , slightly reving engne to manuver, there was a knocking sound like no oil ? When in dock I reved the engine in neutral and past 1800 rpm it started the knocking and ratteling sound. Shut off engine, checked oil level after 15 min - up to fill level and looked fine.
After an hour I started the engine, reved in neutral up to 3000 rpm and the noise is not there. there was never any overheating. I have not used the boat after this yet. Boat sat in garage for 2 seasons, fresh gas.
