2005 115 Optimax Saltwater Alarm Issues

Got an alarm issue, comes and goes mainly while throttling not at idle. Also if you try to adjust the trim up or down anytime besides when idling the motor cuts back to idle speed and you have to go back to neutral before you can throttle back. Motor is a 2005 Mercury Optimax Saltwater Edition 115HP

Sounds like a cooling issue. Check impeller and thermostat.
