I just bought a new, to me, Glastron 185. During the sea trial, I noticed a slight oil film in the bilge and asked the previous owner if he had any oil leak problems. He said he didn't, However on my first trip out, I notice a pretty good oil leak coming form, I believe, the lower part of the Raw water pump. There is a small conector with three conductors that is blocking the vew of the area. (not sure what the conector is for either)

Does anyone have any words of wisdom as to how big of a problem this is going to be to fix? Will I have to pull the engine, etc.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: 2004 volvo penta 4.3GL oil leak near raw water pump. Help!

pull motor, take off oil pan and replace gasket, remove sea water pump pull balancer and replace all gaskets, volvo penta 4.3 gl will leak oil just below the pump where it enters the block and above the oil pan gasket, if your sure its not the pan than leave the motor in. I would remove motor and replace the pan gasket at the same time or try and do it with motor in the boat. A bit hard to do though. im in the process of doing the same thing,
