My 2002 Tohatsu M40D2 is a long shaft without a electric starter.
I am going to buy a 2004 Nissan N40D2 with some kind of engine issue.
The Nissan is a short shaft electric start.
All I really need is the lower half and the starter " Kit " parts to put on mine.
The owner said he bought the Nissan N40D2 and was planning to re-sell it for a profit.
But, after getting it home it really never ran correctly.
He's come to the conclusion that the crank may have been twisted.
It has good compression (130psi) on all 3 cylinders.
Is there a sure fire method of determining if in fact the crank has been affected buy a sudden
stop or over-reving without tearing it apart and having the crank checked?
Thank You For Your Time And Efforts,
Lukus
