2004 Mercury 4 stroke, 50 hp, EFI won't accelerate.

Motor starts up and idles fine. Put it in gear at idle and it takes off at about 2mph like it always has. No issues until I attempt to accelerate. Then it acts like it wants to go for maybe one second before it starts to bog down and eventually die unless I bring the throttle back to an idle. A new in line gas filter didn't fix it and the gas in the tank is only a month old. Little more than 100 hours on it now and this is the first and only problem I've had since purchasing it new in 2004. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Kinda sounds like a fuel issue for sure. I believe there is a second fuel filter near the fuel pump on that motor, right? Did you check that one or replace it too?
