I just bought a 2004 johnson 115 2stroke a month ago . It was running great for like two weeks then it wouldn't start so easy and wouldn't stay running . If I put it in rev mode without the prop engaged it will start but runs rough at low rpms. It runs great at high rpms. I ran a can of sea foam through it in about two gallons of gas but it still seems to start rough and won't idle long. My real question is can I take apart my carbs and clean them without having to link and sync it. I've cleaned carbs on every boat I've had ,but never had a boat with four any help would be great.

Take the carbs off but don't disturb any linkage adjustments.

That's pretty much what I was gonna do. I'm pretty sure my low speed jets are clogged up. Thanks

Make sure the idle pick up tube coming from bottom of the carb is clean. Run a small wire through it.

Ok got the carbs off and I'm a little discouraged by what I've found. The gaskets are pretty worn out and the float bowls are all cracked and warped. Three of the bowls are cracked at the same spot the bottoms are all like hairline fractures and where they meet the carb body are all warped. I even found a 1/2 inch long bug in one. The floats were close to were I think they need to be except one that was way to high and they were all fairly dirty. Gotta order the bowls and carb kits now, but how was this thing running so good two weeks ago?
