I'm about to re-do the waterpump on my Honda outboard and I was wondering if the cooling tubes are prone to rot? If so, I should probably replace it too.. It's been in salt water alot of it's life, and it's not pumping water like it used to.

Thanks!

They are copper and should not rot. I see a lot of melted upper and lower housing on those motors because they dont like to run on the water hose.

They will be partially melted, look down from the top of the upper housing where the drivshaft goes through and look for the housing to be melted to the SS liner. The lower housing will be melted around the middle where the drive shaft goes through, you can check that one without removing it.
