Does anyone have any idea or guess what it's going to cost me to have the carb on my '04 Honda 9.9 4-stroke rebuilt?

Thank you in advance for your time and replies.

If it can be cleaned successfully, our shop would probably charge one hour of labor, plus any parts and supplies needed. Shop rates vary; we get $85 an hour. Some are over $100 an hour.

Consider doing it yourself, I did my 8HP Honda and it was not that hard. It is a little awkward to get at the two screws that hold the carb to the engine, other than that you just unscrew the parts, remove the jets and soak it in "real" carb cleaner (not the rubber or plastic). Do not be tempted to drill out the plug if you have one, as I assume all the newer ones do. I'd buy the proper service manual first, from Honda.

You will probably need a tach if you want to adjust the idle speed properly, or I suppose if it runs OK now, make sure the adjustments go back to the same position by counting turns before you unscrew.

Exactly. If you think you can do it yourself, that's what I would do. I have a 9.9 and an 8, and those carbs have been off a few times for cleaning.
Great advice above, but I'd also add to consider replacing the carb intake gasket after you take it apart. A used gasket can cause vacuum leaks, and the motor won't run good.
