2004 BF50 Motor/gauge install

I'm in the process of installation where I am now hooking up the tach and trim gauge. All the wires seem to be color matched, is it just a matter of matching them up? Some have plugs in the female end, I'm assuming I still hook them up to their color matched male end.<br />Thanks in advance.<br />Don
