I have this 2004 2 HP honda 4 stroke engine it is like new and hardly used ,I changed the oil yesterday and put it in a trash can and ran it and I noticed oil was coming out of the carburator air horn housing and it was coming out pretty good so I shut it down and drained the oil and it did it again , anyone have any idea what might be causing this and what it takes to fix it ,like I said it is like new and hardly used ,I put the right amount of oil in it which i 0.26 US qt . please respond so I can use this week if it is an easy fix , and yes the trash can was full of water , thanks

Do'nt be concerned by the volume of oil you put into this thing ,but rather ,where you end up in the sight glass.Remember, when you drain that oil you have some cling and the capacity given to spec is for a bone dry engine,Keep in mind trim angle on this little guy as well ,as if you are tucked too far under ,you will get the same symptoms.

I have an '03 Honda 5HP that can do the same thing. As hondon stated, make sure you're not overfilling it with oil. Mine has stopped 'leaking' oil, since I have paid closer attention to filling oil to about 3/4 of 'max' level, and also ensuring that the motor is carried/stored correctly.
