This motor starts and idles like a dream. Has new Plugs filters oil and lower unit oil all sensors check good fuel line good all the way to the bottom of the tank. That being said in forward no power will run up to 3000 rpm but in reverse it will tach out and tons of power. all cyclinders are firing and no binding in gear case so anybody have a idea. Dealer said they couldn't get to it for a month and I want to go fishing. BTW all new fuel with injector cleaner.

Sounds like its down a cylinder either carb/injector/compression/valve problem....

Theirs no miss and in reverse it will tach out lots of power but in forward gear its a slug to 3000 rpm. All old plugs were evenly used I didn't pull the injectors but their all popping when I put a screw driver to my ear

Running in reverse proves nothing as prop is designed to push and in reverse it is aerated by the prop exhaust and will rev normally ,same as reving it up out of gear as there is no loads

Thanks guess its time for compression test valve spring check and all that fun stuff. Thanks for the reverse info I never considered the exhaust part of reverse. Good to know for future reference if you ever need HD Diesel info holler at me.
