2004 175 Evinrude DI, where is the fuel filter?

A buddy of mine has a 2004 Evinrude 175 Direct Injection (not an E-TEC), on his Triton bass boat. Both of us are stumped as to where exactly the fuel filter is mounted on it. The parts diagram shows one, but not exactly where. I have a feeling it's buried in the lower part of the cowling, but I wanted to ask here if anyone has ever worked on one of these and seen the filter. I think it might be on the port side.

Has anyone seen where this filter is?
