Yesterday out on the water underway at about 5000 RPMs my motor lost about half those RPMs and started run run rough. I couldn’t get it back up to full speed again. I then noticed in the water fuel coming out of my exhaust on the lower unit. It sounds pretty normal at idle but then as soon as input it in gear and under load it runs very rough. Even at idle fuel is coming out though. What is causing this issue?

I was able to troubleshoot the injectors by running at idle on muffs and unplugging each injector one at a time to see if there was a difference. All injectors when unplugged had notice or change in engine except number 3 with no change occurring. My assumption was the number 3 injector was stuck open forcing fuel into the combustion chamber at the wrong times pushing it into the the exhaust system.

I ordered 4 new injectors and replaced all 4 as well as a very gummed up fuel filter and now the engine again runs great.
