Hello! First time on the forums, ive been using it but haven't had an account so.. here I am! Asking for help.
I recently acquired a new to me Yamaha 50, to go on my freshly refurbished new to me bass boat. I've re done everything on it so I figured today I'd get a motor on it, i have an issue im not sure if its supposed to happen or not, i fired it up today, its first time, and I was using pre-mix, ontop of the auto-mix just to make sure everything was getting oil for its first fire, put it in a 55 gallon drum, fired right up, runs great, but exhaust is coming from the steering arm, right underneath the cowling, im pointing at the area. There's some water not much a couple drips, but a good ammount of smoke due to me using too much oil i know that, but since I can see smoking coming from here, more than the exhaust itself, im assuming it needs exhaust manifold gaskets, lower gaskets, new seals for exhaust? Or is it supposed to have exhaust come from this area?
