Hi All, New to the forum. I am shade tree mechanic, however, new to outboard engines. I have recently started having starter issues. Sometimes, the starter spins slowly and doesnt engage the flywheel other times is spins up normally. Battery voltage tests good, cleaned the wire connections at battery and starter. It seems to me that it may be the control box ignition switch? Is there anything to look out for when taking the cover off of that control box? Is that something that could cause my issue? Thanks in advance for any replies

Starter relay/solenoid might be a problem.

Did you measure the voltage at the starter or solenoid while cranking the motor?
