Installed gauge (teleflex) but did not connect hose yet.

Read recent thread that mentions adapter plate instead of t'ing into the tell tale.

What is that about?

Should I not just be following the instructions that came with the gauge?

Also, I have removed my speedo, so I imagine I can use the same tube from speedo (and removed other end from lower unit pickup) as long as I connect that tube properly?

Water Pump was changed over winter and will be doing tstats in a week or 2 myself, so I know it is right time to add gauge.

Noticeable increase in tell tale flow over last season when I ran engine 1st time this season other day.

Your motor doesn't have an overboard indicator hose to T into. There is a brass plug on each cylinder head you can remove and the fitting will screw into. The speed-o tube will work but often they aren't the correct size. If it fits on the fitting and the gauge, you're all set.

Thank you.

I know it fits into back of gauge, so will see if it goes into fitting.

I am going to tackle this next week and took a peak at the engine yesterday. I THINK i saw the right fitting, but am not 100% certain.

Is their any way someone can post a pic of the correct fitting I am supposed to remove and replace with the water pressure fitting?

Much appreciated. Thank you.

If you look between the sparkplugs, you should see a black painted brass hex plug. If you remove it, the fitting from the water pressure gauge will fit perfectly. Put some pipe dope or grease on the threads.
