We just picked up a 2003 Tahoe Q3 F/S 4.3 and it has a 4 blade SS prop on it but no markings of the pitch. It gets out of the hole quickly but will run right past 5000 rpms which is not good. Any insight what the stock prop would be? I’d like better too speed as we aren’t pulling skiers. Thanks all!

Stock was probably a 21 or 23 pitch 3 blade aluminum.

Verify tach. It won’t go past 5000 rpm on an engine that age. Is it an mpi or carb ?
if it’s the usual ratio of 1.6 for that kind of set up, a 19 or 21 would be the usual choice. Ditch the 4 blade. Even if you did know the pitch they behave weird compared to a good 3 blade. I just propped a 1900 regal with a 4.3 mpi there. It had a 4 blade ally 21” on it and hitting limiter at 4950. Put a 3 blade tempest plus 19” on it. It’s as perfect as they get. Runs to 4850 and 53ish mph gps. Who would have thought that would be the result !
