2003 nissan 18b engine wont stop

yes, for something new and different, not an engine that wont start, but an engine that wont stop when the lanyard key is pulled. The lanyard switch is operating correctly: no continuity when the key is in, continuity when pulled. the wires flow current where they are supposed to, the ground connections and anodes are in good shape and the CD unit was replaced as the presumed problem, but to no avail. the only way to kill the motor is to disconnect one of the coil leads.

check all the connecting wires
make sure they are plugged in correctly

There are only two parts involved in this circuit. The CD and the kill switch. One or the other are your only two choices as the source of the problem. You have a brown lead and a black lead that comes out of the cd and goes to the kill switch where they go to the brown and black lead there. I would urge you to contact Nissan directly at 972-323-6003 as this is one they would love to hear about.
