I have just purchased a 2003 mecury 150 xr6 and i nned to know if i am going to have any problems. it was origionally used in fresh water but i am going to use it in salwater. the motor was completly rebuilt. so .....

You should have asked your question before you bought the engine. That motors life will be severly shortened buy running it in Salt Water. It has no provisons for flushing but you can add them. It also does not have the addtional chromatic corrosion protection that Salty's do. You can certainly run it in salt but it won't last more than a couple of years unless you add the flushing components and are meticulous of washing and scrubbing it down after every use. If it sits for more than a day without flushing the damage will begin.
