2003 Merc 75HP 4S impeller change gone bad

I replaced the impeller and seals on my friends motor and everything went smooth until I put the lower unit back into the motor. It went back in pretty smooth but when I was tightening the bolts I heard a 'click' and oil started leaking from the engine. I'm not sure if its related or if the oil dipstick leaked. What could I have done if I put the driveshaft in wrong?

Sounds like you cracked the oil reservoir.

possibly cracked the oil pump.

Lower units should slide together.-----If you used the bolts to pull it / force it you made a mistake !!

where exactly is the oil coming from , i picture will tell 1000 words.

Thanks for the replies everyone, sorry I didn't get any notifications so I didn't know anyone had replied. I havent been back out to it yet to check.

If I 'Sounds like you cracked the oil reservoir' or 'possibly cracked the oil pump' how do i go about diagnosing that and how do I fix it? Just looking at the engine it sounds pretty much like a whole tear down of the upper end
