When I bought this boat the tilt/trim up didn't work - as in no motor running, down was no worries, didn't make a difference if I used the switch on the side of the outboard or on the throttle lever. Figured not a problem either fix the issue (thinking relay or switch) or replace the required parts. First this was to spray contact cleaner around all the relay and switch components and try it out. This worked so haven't thought about it since as weather has been terrible or I have been working so haven't even considered using the boat.

Well I was getting it ready to use in 2 days and sure enough tilt up is not working again from either switch- no power. Swapped relays, tried a new relay which didn't work from either switch. Hotwire I can get the motor to work, just not from a switch.

Any ideas?

Corrosion on a wire or terminal is deductive reasoning.

Time to get the meter out.

Pull all the corresponding plugs apart and observe/clean pins.....could be up in a wire.
