I recently purchased a 2003 BF130 to put onto my bay boat. I installed the motor using a new wire harness and PFI key switch assembly. I have hooked it up to 12v power, engine cranks but has no spark, all warning lights and sound beeps when the key is turned to the on position, but motor will not start. Any clues, what should I look for? The only other clue I have is that I am not sure that the Tach is working, when I turn the motor over, it does not appear like it is getting any power at all, even thought I hooked it up according to the wire diagram. None of the cylinders has any spark. Let me clarify, I thought I saw the number 2 cylinder fire one time only.

no spark huh, double and triple check your wiring job, when you turn the key to the on position, do any lights flash indicating a code, i would put a spark tester on the primarys and then crank it again just to make sure it is a fire issue..try and provide some more info about the trouble

If you have a double tone on key on you must have power going in on the main harness. If you have a no spark on crank you must be missing something else, like a lanyard kill? Is this a new motor or something used? Check all your wiring connections and fuses. These motors always crank around to number one cylinder before they fire. Should find one and fire in two rev's or something is wrong. Check the basic's and let us know.......
