2003 Honda 15hp Water Pump

I removed the five bolts on the lower unit and it drops approximately 1.5 to 2 inches and then stops. Am I missing a bolt somewhere or do you have any idea what is holding the lower unit in place?

You need to put it back and just hand tighten a couple of the bolts to hold the lower end in place and then disconnect the shift linkage. You have a rod running down the front side of the lower housing. There is a long nut (3/4")and a small jam nut, loosen the jam nut and unscrew the long nut from the shift rod. Be careful that is is not cross threaded. Mine was, from the factory and I had to take things loose at the top. Changing the impeller is pretty straight forward, make sure you do the gaskets also.
