I can't speak on Yamaha's Reliability/Quality, but having owned a FICHT, a 98 150, which was the Problem Child of the series. While the 200+ HP models were based on a different Block, and didn't have as many Problems, I still feel it isn't a matter of 'Will it break?, just a Matter of When'.
Thanks. I am glad I have you guys to ask.
I found a 2002 VMAX ox66. Mine is a 25", this one is 20". He said he believes it will work on my Angler 220 cc, but he said if it doesn't he can take the mid section off mine and put it on the vmax. What do you guys think about that? He said the engine has less than 120hrs on it.
Florida, I been looking at 4 strokes here. I've seen a couple with between 500 and 800 for around 6k or so. I really dont know what to look for as far as outboards. I've always been a stern drive guy until I moved to Florida.
The big outboards are popular in many salt water areas.---- Easy to flush and clean.------Just takes $$$$ to install a new set of motors.-----Not so simple with a stern drive.
