I own a 2003 Suzuki 150 2 stroke EFI, I’ve put some decent use on it for the past couple months I’ve been running it no problem. I refilled my oil reservoir on my motor and went to go out like usual. And i got up on plane at about 3-4K rpms and i get the oil light on my gauge and then about 10-15 secs after that i get “limit”. I have to pull back to idle and wait 10-15 secs and then it happens again. It idles fine, you can rev it all you want and it responds and never stalls or bogs. Any help would be appreciated, I’m thinking oil flow sensor maybe?

yes when was the last time you replaced the oil flow sensor? id add 100:1 (or 50:1) to your main tank till you get this sorted! i used to be able to repair them, but now i just replace. the oil level sender in the tank will also tell the computer to pull the timing like described if it tests bad. id clean the whole oil tank and lines as well. fussy job but not hard.

I’m new owner to the boat and motor so never been done. I did look around underneath the cowling and i found what it looks like to be the flow sensor and it looked white and newer. I’m still gonna try and replace it. Even if i premix my gas in my main 55 gallon tank wont i still still get the alarm if im not filling the resvoir? Do i need to make a jumper wire for the alarm?

yes it will still trip the alarm there is no "oil in fuel" sensor on any motor! i was saying do that so there is a sufficient lube for the rotating assembly should it really not be pumping oil. i have no idea what you are looking at but the oil level sensor is a rod with a float inside the oil tank with 2 wires coming out of the top. no need to replace yet just carefully pry it out and test with an OHM meter according to the specs in the manual. couldnt be easier. to defeat the alarm (not recommended get it fixed!) simply unplug the harness at the tank.

I know there’s no oil in fuel sensor on any motor, i work at a marina and we’re a Suzuki dealer. I looked up my motor and found the oil flow sensor. It’s an inline 2 wire sensor where the oil passes through before hitting the pump on the side of the block. The float in my oil tank works just fine, it corresponds and reads whatever you tell it based on position of the float (i removed from tank and confirmed) i currently have the oil tank off the motor for cleaning. Going to reinstall once fully cleaned and add fresh 2 stroke oil. If alarm still occurs while running the boat I’ll be unplugging it and monitoring my oil level until i get a new one.

id have to look at my shop manual, but i think atleast part of the oil warning system is in the CDI, not just the oil warning module. meaning it could be a faulty CDI but just run through the troubleshooting section with a meter and you will find which one. no parts anymore so hopefully its just the sensor. easy to tell though if its grounded with a meter!
