2003 60hp ELPTEFI S/N 0T756133- Shift Cam Orientation

Hi all
I disassembled my L/U to put in new seals and water pump. When I removed the shift cam I"m almost 100% sure I confirmed the orientation (which way was was up). However I see on what I believe to be the bottom is the part number 760394 but it's also stamped "up" . I thought be better confirm which way is correct, however, it's been more difficult to determine than I thought. The only thing I have to go on for some confirmation is the blown up portion of the on-line parts diagram which seems to indicate the numbers should be down - seems like that's what they are trying to get at with the blown up section of the shift cam. If it didn't actually say "up" I wouldn't be second guessing myself.

Well, I may have answered this one myself. I reassembled the unit temporarily without seals installed. I compared the rotation of the shift shaft to other reports here and on YouTube which describe which way to rotate the shaft for F-N-R. So it appears I was wrong, the numbers and the "UP" stamp need to go UP. At least based on the shift shaft rotation. Unfortunately the boat is at camp, so I'm not going to know for sure until I get there. Fingers crossed that the controls are not reversed or something goofy.
