Wondering if she is runing as she should as my top end seems a little low.

Have a faifrly light 21' CC 17 degree deadrise.

With 2 people/ half tank (40 gallons) She crusies at 31mph at 4200 rpm (15.25 x 17 Stainless prop) getting aBOUT 2.4MPG FLAT water tabs up, engine trimmed.

Full throttle she turns about 5400-5500RPM at about 41mph

Would you figure my top end would be a bit higher if my 4200rpm curise is 31mph?

Other then a fuel restriction alarm ( at full throttle end of last season), she starts and runs pretty good.

I am going to address the fuel restriction alarm by replacing the anti-syphon valve as my bulb and all external fuel hose are new.

41mph was the fastest she has ever gone even before fuel restriction alarm.

That would put me at a 15p prop which would pretty much kill my fuel efficiency I think.

Most people say I should be running a 19p prob, but that would drop my rpm, not raise it.

Is their possibly something else that could be stealing rpm?
