Just removed my speedo and put in a Lowrance lmf-400 in it's palce.

My question is the tube I pull out of the back of the speedo?

What should I do with the tube? Does water come out of it or anything?
Does it need to be plugged? Can it be removed entirely?

Never use speedo. Have chart plotter GPS and secobndary Lowrance LMF gps to get my speed.

Just need to know what to do with this tube that is no longer connected to anything in the dash.

Thank you.

If you don't clamp it shut, water will come through from the sender. You could use the hose for a water pressure gauge if you decide to install one.

AS a matter of fact, I just did install a water pressure gauge.
I fished the tube thru, but did not connect to engine (with the little T or connect to back of gauge yet (was planning on doing that this weekend).

So you are saying I can just use this for my water pressure gauge- as simple as that?

Both use air pressure in the line, so yes if the hose will fit the nipple on the gauge and sender.

SO I have to connect to the gauge and also the sender on the engine?

Not just connect the hose from back of speedo right up to the water gauge, have to connect it to different sender on engine as well?

Sorry for the noobish questions.

Thanks.

Most of the kits have a "T" that you can cut into the tell-tale line. Then you just need to run the hose up to the top of the engine and back down (to keep air from getting back into the cooling circuit) and on to the gauge.

Click the thumbnail for a picture of one of mine:

Got it thanks.

My lower unit is currently off and their is a hose hanging down not conected (about same sizes as the speedo tube).

Is that in fact the speedo tube?

Thanks again.
