I have an engine that I’m trying to evaluate, I replaced a cylinder liner and piston on it a year ago. It’s been sitting on a stand in my shop. I used a jumper wire to turn the the engine over by energizing the solenoid. I have no spark. I even grabbed the spark plug wire to verify. Nothing. Every 2 stroke engine I’ve ever owned that would produce spark unless something is wrong with either the stator or power pack. Question does this engine need something else to make spark? It’s a fuel injected model and has a oil level/ temp/ heat gauge that alarms and does rpm limiting that is not connected (I would have to purchase one) trying to decide if I want to fix it or just sell it.
