My 2002 Suzuki DF115 power tilt piston is leaking. Very milky fluid and the tilt moves very slow until it gets about halfway raised and then it moves the motor OK. This is a single ram unit, not 3 ram and there is not much info online about working on this style. The problem appears to be a wiper washer at the top of the cylinder that has popped out of it's seat and is riding freely on the piston which is allowing water intrusion. I'm not sure if it broke or just popped out, but I'd like to replace it. Looking for advice on a couple of things.
1. the parts diagram does not show the wiper washer at that seals the piston. Does anyone know if that part is considered part of the whole cover assembly, or if it can be bought separately?
2. The bottom pin is seized which is keeping me from removing the whole unit. I tried using a heavy mallet to hit the bolt heads that are unthreaded a couple turns on both sides to try and break it loose - no luck. I've seen advice online that I will probably need to cut this pin if it's seized, but checking if anyone has tips for getting this pin out. Or if I remove the right bracket will that help my cause.
3. I think I might be able to replace the main seals without removing the whole assembly, but that will entail dismantling the cylinder assembly on the boat. There are 4 small bolts holding on a plastic cover. Those are off but the cover does not want to come up. I've gotten wedges between the housing and the cover but it just distorts the cover. Checking if anyone has experience removing this cover before I break it.
Thanks for any advice anyone has--ryan
