Hello, I have a 2002 Nissan NSF6A with a bent lower cover. I see that there is/was another poster here with the same problem but the thread is old and was never resolved. Questions are... does the lower unit need to be removed to remove the powerhead? Is there another way to remove/replace the lower cover? Should I just take it to a service tech?
Thanks,

Welcome to Iboats,

To remove power head from pan, need to free throttle cable from carb and remove bolts located under pan. Once out, wiggle power head front and rear while pulling upwards, should come loose fast. Probably will need a new base gasket if found severely burnt.

alrighty, almost ready to do this job, a few more questions.... do I use a gasket glue/sealant? and to what torque do I tighten bolts?

Check in your Factory service manual (don't bother with aftermarket manuals). No sealant needed.
