2002 Nissan 18 hp

Purchased a new to me, 2002 18 hp Nissan (NSF 18 B). Light use. Had it in my garage for 2 weeks and completed maintenance on it. There was not oil leaking. Put on my skiff, ran well, the next morning, after the motor was in the full tilt position for 18 hours, there was a oil dripping down the shaft. Filter was tight, cap was tight. No visible oil under the cover. Brought to the shop, they could not replicate the issue. any thoughts:?

It has not, but the engine is in the shop. I am picking it up tomorrow. If the engine was in full tilt. How long would it take for the oil to settle so an accurate reading could be gauged on the dip stick? When i found it leaking, i immediately put in the down position and took an oil reading. It was down over half. Having said that, i did not allow anytime for the oil to settle (if that was needed) to see if it raised.

Let it sit for a minute for the oil level to stabilize. Half way on the stick is OK. Just never a drop over full.
