I am looking to install a water pressure gauge on my motor this weekend but I don't know where to attach the hose. I bought a teleflex kit. I found a really good picture of a 2003 motor on this site and where they connected, but I can't find that location on my motor. I thought they would be the same. Any suggestions of where I can connect this?

Thanks

Usually there is a brass plug in the top of the bock, right behind the flywheel. I have never worked on you model, so I am not sure. If you find the plug, then you need to get the parts to put in the hole to connect the water line. My telflex kit that I used provided good indtruction and schematics.

My kit does show how to hook it up with different fittings for different applications, but I am not sure which way I need to do it. Wih my luck I will take out the wrong bolt or something and screw something up. I have never worked on motors, but thought I would connect this while it is in the garage for the winter and I have time. I will look for a "brass" plug on top. I must have to take off the plastic hood covering the flywheel to see it. I will look tonight when I get home.

Thanks

Follow the instructions with the kit. They generally tell you to "T" into the tell tale line or into a port in the block. Here are two pictures of my 75 HP. One shows the telltale "T'ed" into the tell tale. The other shows the temp sensor. You can use that hole as well if it doesn't already have a sender installed. I realize your engine is not the same but you can't hardly go wrong using the tell tale method.

Ok... First let me say thanks for the replies. That was the good picture I mentioned in my first post. Now I looked again and compared to the pics. It looks like the connections on the block itself already have wires connected to them so I assume I shouldn't touch them. Now the tell tale comes out of the bottom of the block and only has about 2 inches of tubing belore it exits the pisser. Should I connect there?? There also is 2 larger hoses that come from the block on each sideon the top and go out the bottom of the cowl. Are they water? They are probably 3/4" diameter or so
It also mentions in the directions wheather the motor has a water bypass hose???
I probably should just T into the pisser tube ...right???

You did not provide a SN but I have a Mercury OEM manual for a 225/250 3.0 Litre EFI for SN OT409000 and above. If your motor fits this description, the attached pic may be helpful to you. It shows where a water pressure tube would fit on the motor. It appears to be called the #24 Block Pressure Hose.

Don't make this so hard. "T" into the tell tale. If the port is already used by an electrical component you can't tap into that port.

I think that would be best for me to T into the tell tale, but that diagrahm with descriptions is much appreciated hkeiner, now maybe I can figure out what some of these things are. ha ha.
Thank You again to all that helped.
