My 2002 150 XL cranks but will not run. Ser # 0T580733. Compression is 115 to 120 on all cylinders. The fuel is clean and fresh (no water or alcohol). Carbs were removed and cleaned last week. New fuel lines, bulb, and filter. The ign fire is very weak. can only see spark if the tester is shielded from light and gap is set down to 3/16 inch.Diodes and resistance readings on all CDM's are in specs. (all readings taken with a Fluke 87 with min/max function). Original stator was reading 300 ohms, (below spec of 380 to430) Replaced the stator with no change. New stator reads 420 ohms. Kill wire (blk/yel) it is open with the Ign on. Resistance on trigger coils 1220 to 1240. n Stator output voltage at cranking speed is 139 volts. Trigger output is 2.2 to 2.8 volts while cranking. I have also replaced the control module with a known good unit. I am a automotive electronics tech, but this CDM system is kicking my rear. Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't know what I am missing. Thanks in advance for any help.

Howdy

I'm not an outboard guy but have done some research and found the following troubleshooting section for CDM's.
http://boatinfo.no/lib/mercury/manuals/135-150-175-200.html#/78

Will continue to look around and hope a Merc guy comes in to assist

Thanks for the reply. That is where I got most of the information I am using. I have done all the test in the trouble shooting chart and all the readings are in specs. I don't know where to go now. Just looking for some direction.

don't remember your model setup, but CDMs often use a common ground connection. A bad ground could affect all CDMs
