2002 HPDI Oil transfer problems

I had a problem this weekend with my 200 hpdi transfer pump not delivering oil to the engine tank. Everything has checked out, float, manual overide switch, test for 180 seconds and fills the tank. I did notice that my tilt/trim sensor is not working and actually stuck in position. I moved it by hand (very stiff to move) and the pump works fine. Could this have been a cause for the pump not pumping? Is there anything to lubricate this sensor?

Thanks for the help!!

the trim sender isnt supposed to affect the 96 up v6 2 strokes, however the engine must be running for normal aoutomatic transfer to occur, have you checked the filter on the remote tank> do you have a low remote indicate on your digital tach?
post the model number as the first years of the HPDI was about 1999.

Rodbolt:
My motor is a 2002 Z200Y, I was able to check out the oil level switch in the motor reservoir and seemed good. I started the motor, moved the level float and the transfer pump started working. This seems to be an intermittent problem. Do you have any ideas on where to start looking?
Thanks for the help,

Y indicates its a 2000 model.
on an intermittant problem you have to be able to test it while its broke.
other than that all the tests will come back normal.
if you can make it fail while its connected to a laptop you can see what the ECU sees the switches are doing.

Can I hook my laptop to it?? If so, what cable/software is required? Thanks for your help.

Thanks,

Re: 2002 HPDI Oil transfer problems

software and adapter? about 400 dollars.
however its all on or off switches. whats called a discrete switch.
its a very simple system you just have to remember its doing a lot at once, well not really.
the switch in the remote tank simply monitors if there is actually enough oil for automatic transfer, if there is it can if not it wont.
swictch is normally closed, open when tank level is low.
switch in the engine tank is a 3 position switch, pump off, all the way up, pump one midway down and at the bottom alarm on and RPM reduction.
it really doesnt get any simpilar.
