2002 HPDI 200

I have a 2002 HPDI 200 HP. Motor runs great, sometimes oil will not transfer from primary to secondary tank. Remove cover activate emergency by-pass switch and tank fills no problem. One note, Primary tank, pump, tachometer a and all wiring harness from my old 1990 Yamaha V150. Please offer ideas.

hello<br /> did ya clean the remote tank filter? if its clogged oil will be used faster than it can transfer. a test is to fill the remote and drain the engine tank. then turn the key on. should fill to full mark from empty in less than 180 seconds. should have sprung for the new stuff. old stuff and new stuff just dont work well.<br />if you have the 1990 stuff you dont have a trim gauge either.<br /> good luck and keep posting

Rodbolt,<br />I did replace the oil filter and that did increase the oil flow. The problem seems to be that the pump doesn't always kick on from the float on the engine tank.

hello<br /> I would suspect the wire harness,although the only difference between oil transfer with the manual switch and automatic is the manual switch is a manual ground. uses all the same harnesses from the engine. has anyone had the engine tank apart? its rare to have a control issue. but then again ya rigged it with anchient, wore out and old stuff. here we wont rigg it if the old stuff is more than 2 years old. no sense in ruining a 13,000 dollar engine case a transfer line is kinked and collapsed someplace. that is not a warrenty item either. I have been through this once so far this year. the guy had no alarm horn on his anchient craft and he ran it out of oil. no warrenty. the engine alarms worked perfect he just ran it till it quit. if the current draw from the old transfer pump is to high it will cause automatic transfer problems. there is a post someplace about here that gives yopu anything you wish to know about precision blend and how to trouble shoot it. try a search for it.<br /> post back if ya cant find it.<br /> good luck and keep posting
