2002 chaparral 305 265hp fuel injected mercruiser beeps sporatically on acceleration

Has anyone experienced this ?
This boat will beep a few times upon accleration & then stop, it comes & goes but does not affect the boats performance.
The boat is a 2002 Chaparral 220 SSi 305 Mercruiser w 265 hp - fuel injected
The engine runs great but this beeping is annoying. The boat has only 189 hours, has always been stored in the garage at night, never sat in the water over night & never been in salt water.
I've been told it may be computer related but it has never been diagnosed because the marine dealer that serviced it does not have diagnostic equipment for a boat this old.
Does anyone know of a fix ?

You have a 555 ECM and the HSV ignition

With it doing on acceleration and is intermittent and does not effect performance it might be the in-gear switch on the shift plate. The Bravo drive has just the one switch

It's there to tell the driver the boat is not in gear and rpms are to high. All good if it actually was true but in your case might just be a switch going bad or needs adjusted.

Try disconnecting the switch

No, the switch is on the shift plate which is on top the motor. It's where the shift cables are connected
