2002 Boston Whaler 130 Sport

I would like to puchase a Boston Whaler 130 Sport with a 2002 40 hp Merc 4 stroke. The motors come as part of the package and are not fuel injected. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Don

Hi, Don.<br /><br />The new 130 is a pretty boat, but it is heavier than the classic 13, which I prefer, and has several cost cutting substitutions of cheaper fittings and equipment. Nevertheless, if you want a new one and there are no leftover classic 13s, it is a good value.<br /><br />I don't know of an EFI 4 stroke in that power range other than the Johnson/Suzuki DF40, which I think would be heavy on that boat. The Merc is probably your best option in a 40hp 4 stroke.<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />
