2002 90bf starved or excessive fuel???

I recently bought a used honda 90hp 4 stroke. It only had 40 hours on it. It now has 63. Sometimes, not always, the engine will only get up to 2000 rpm before stumbling. I can run it that way and it seems ok (except for the lack of rpm). I pull the throttle back and it idles fine. If I turn it off, it starts right up. If I throttle up and really push the motor hard it will stumble then want to go really well then stumble again then when I pull the thottle back to idle(neutral) it stalls and I smell gas. Any ideas?

This is a common occurrance with this motor. Do a search and you will find the solution.
