2002 9.9D Honda 4-stroke converting from tiller to remote control

I have a 2002 Honda 9.9D 4-stroke outboard motor with a tiller handle that I want to convert to remote control. I would like to know if anyone has done this conversion. I spoke with a tech from Honda and was told that even though a "factory kit" for this conversion was not available, all of the parts needed to do the conversion were available from the dealer. So if anyone has any info: parts list with honda part numbers or any insight with this conversion, please share with me! I would very much like to upgrade my motor. Thanking you in advance.

If you are still pursuing this project... I am in the process of converting my 2007 BF40 to remote. I used Boats.net website to compare parts diagrams of the tiller model to those of the remote control model. You can match up the parts and develop your list from the differences. I also found that their forum is very responsive with answers to questions as well as their customer service for telephoned questions. Let me know if you want to see my parts list. Good luck.
