Hello,

I had decided to replace my 2 barrel 350 Mercruiser with a rebuilt 6.2 fuel injected engine I had picked up over the winter. Unfortunately the motor had the connector for the IAC cut and now I'm struggling to find out the correct wiring. If someone could post a pic or just direct me which wire belongs on top I would greatly appreciate it.
The two wires are pink/white and green/black.

thanks

Dan

Need your engine serial number as around 2002 Mercuiser had two different models of IAC's.

If the IAC looks like the one in the following link (item number 16) then the IAC is the same as found/looking up an 2002 ford windstar IAC. http://www.iboats.com/Throttle-Body/...iew_id.1683327
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Standard-Mot...RVxdbm&vxp=mtr

But Mercuiser also had a different design IAC mercruiser part number 803149 looks like this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-Penta-...JW9b62&vxp=mtr

If the IAC looks like # 16 then you could try an auto parts store as they tend to offer a wiring harness connector look up parts guide such as possibly this one, http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...9o0&ajaxhist=0 Or these for more examples, http://www.autozone.com/repairguides...96b43f8036e661
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...zone&FORM=AWIR

Of course have them look it up on their system and bring the IAC in for a match-up too.

Thanks a lot. My IAC is definitely the one that is on the Ford Windstar, I've included some pictures. My serial number is 0M623143
I guess looking at the link to one of the diagrams I should test wire that is supplying power from the harness, this should be the wire connected to the bottom terminal at the IAC connection.
Do you agree?

Thanks again. I'll look through the other diagrams.

If the IAC has pin locating numbers (1 and 2), the manual shows Pin 1 as Black/Green and pin 2 as Pink

Thanks AllDodge. I'm not near my boat right now, I'll have to look at it this evening. Hopefully the IAC has pin locating numbers.
I'm concerned that if I mix up the wiring I can potentially damage the ECM.

Since this is my first fuel injected engine would it be a good idea to purchase a diagnostic scanner, if so which one would you recommend?

More tools is always a good thing, but like most they can cost. I have the Techmate made by Rinda
http://www.rinda.com/techmatepro/

Your going to need the adapter 94006 for the ECM/PCM 555
The regular kit (94050) comes without this adapter 94005 which covers all except the 555 cost $399

Rinda use to sell the adapters individually but I'm not seeing it now. There is another kit (94050s) which puts the two adapters in and also includes 24, 26 and 27 for $599

http://www.rinda.com/acro/merc_specs_v6.pdf

Just call Rinda and talked directly, and they can advise and complete order if your willing to go
