2001 Yamaha V-Max Won't Start

I was out this weekend and the motor was running great. As we were leaving our second stop the motor would not fire. Got it home and checked all of the wiring including kill switch and did not see anything out of the norm. I can't find a FREE wiring diagram online so I can't do much troubleshooting. I am an electronic technician by education and a fishing guide by choice so I do know which end of the hammer to hold!! Please note, MOTOR CRANKS BUT WILL NOT RUN, NO SPARK

probably best if you stated what motor you have.
testing safety switch, key switch, proper peak voltage reading to CDI and out of it should lead you in a direction

if you are telling the truth about no spark
