2001 Yamaha HPDi tilt/trim

Looking for information on the manual release valve, on the tilt/trim unit.The screw will not move on this valve. I would like to take this valve out and replace it with a new valve, the problem is I don’t see how to pull this valve out. I want to change the whole valve.
Any suggestions? Thanks

If I take the snap ring off will the valve come out by turning the screw?

The screw is designed to back off and retighten.I dont recall it being able to come totally off.If you cant turn it,use a bigger screwdriver.Are you on the lower part of the mount,stbd side right at waterline?Charlie

Charlie , thank you for your reply. I am trying to replace the entire valve. This includes the screw and the housing it screws into, just haven’t been able to get it out yet. Thanks

I think you are out of luck on that one.Last time I had same request of my marine tech was on an evinrude and he said we had to replace the entire lift setup which is what we did.Charlie
